We were proud to work with Johnson Matthey (JM), a global leader in the development of sustainable technologies, on their cutting edge fuel cell facility project in Shanghai, China.

The new facility, on JM’s Songjiang site in Shanghai, provides production capability and an application centre to produce fuel cells using membrane electrode assemblies (MEAs). Designed to create power without releasing harmful emissions, these fuel cells are helping to decarbonise our roads and complement battery technology solutions.

Our international multi-office execution approach allowed us to provide full EPCM services through our Shanghai and Birmingham offices. We worked in close partnership with JM at all stages of the project, whether it was with their UK or China team, as the project progressed to successful completion.

Some of the challenges on the project included remote support and delivery of equipment during the COVID-19 pandemic.

“We are proud to have supported Johnson Matthey during such challenging circumstances. This facility will help JM to continue to collaborate and innovate with their partners to deliver more sustainable power and energy storage options in automotive applications and beyond.”

Matt Blaza, PM Group Project Director.
