Innovation in Action Awards 2022 - Sustainable Process Design Tool wins Overall prize.

The tool evaluates the embodied energy and carbon impact of different process equipment choices right across the lifecycle of the facility.  “Decisions taken at the process design stage have an environmental impact over the whole lifetime of a manufacturing facility,” said Kevin, a Process Engineer in PM Group's Cork office. “Based on quantitative data, this tool helps clients to choose equipment and design philosophies with the lowest embodied carbon from cradle to grave.”

Kevin’s innovation was also winner of the Sustainability Category award.

“Congratulations to Kevin and well done to all the finalists. Its brilliant to capture so many and such a wide variety of new ideas and creativity in this year’s Awards Scheme,” said Niall O’Loughlin, Strategic Development. “Innovation and change are core to our culture. We have many sources of innovation within the business and this scheme is one important element of our framework.”

“This years talented and diverse group of innovators represents the future of PM Group” said Dave Murphy, CEO. “Their smart ideas leverage new and existing digital technologies to make our ways of working better and more efficient. What came across clearly from the presentations is people’s inherent desire to challenge us to develop, change and do new things. This is very much aligned with our business transformation strategy.”
