Janssen Sciences BioCork 2 expansion to its biologics manufacturing facility in Ringaskiddy, Cork, Ireland was undertaken to ensure a sustainable supply of lifesaving medicines for patients.
'BioCork 2' added an innovative new ‘Fed Batch’ drug substance production facility with four 5,000L bioreactors. The team delivered the 19,000 sq.m. facility on time and within budget with a strong safety record. The project had up to 1,200 people on site with more than 50 different contractors, more than 60 equipment vendors and workers from more than 40 different countries.
