We’re delighted that University College Dublin graduate, James Baker, has won the PM Group Kevin Kelly Design Award 2020.

James won the Award for his contribution to his UCD Chemical and Bioprocess Engineering final year design project.

“We’re delighted that James was chosen as the 2020 recipient of the PM Group Kevin Kelly Design Award. The Award was designed to recognise ability, effort and excellence and is part of our programme of activity to encourage the next generation of engineers in Ireland. James was chosen for his ability to work in partnership to solve complex design team challenges – something our multi-disciplinary teams do across the world every day,” said Dave Murphy, CEO PM Group.

James, a graduate of the UCD School of Chemical and Bioprocess Engineering, won the award for his contribution to the team project “Batch Production Vitamin B-12 (with specification for human consumption)".

“It's a huge honour to be awarded the PM Group Kevin Kelly Design Award. Taking part in the project was a really enjoyable challenge and it's great to receive recognition for all the work that went in. I'd like to thank PM Group for their generous sponsorship of the award, it means a lot to me and my family,” said James Baker.

We are looking forward to meeting James in person as soon as we are able. In the meantime, we would like to extend our congratulations to him on recently completing the Mizen to Malin Cycle Challenge in aid of the Irish Cancer Society.

Now in its 21st year, the annual PM Group design award was renamed in 2013 in honour of PM Group’s former Chairman, Kevin Kelly.
