Bayer's Berkeley campus in California is undergoing a transformation. Supporting Bayer, PM Group helped to develop a master plan to transition from an API campus to focusing on Biologics. The facility and outdoor spaces will support Bayer in the creation of lifesaving therapeutics.

Forward-thinking vision

The 46-acre site includes manufacturing, laboratory and administrative spaces. The site master plan supports Bayer’s current drug manufacturing expertise and outlines Bayer’s forward-thinking vision to maximize manufacturing capacity. It adds more than 650,000 sq.ft. for advanced new product development and launch facilities to 2052.

The design includes open green spaces, bike paths and walk ways which unify the campus. This design allows the facility to be integrated with the surrounding environment.

PM Group provided a 3D promotional video of the masterplan. The video highlights key aspects such as urban street parks, building site lines and site usage zones. The video aimed to assist the Berkeley campus in attracting new clients and prospective employees.

Also at the Berkeley campus, PM Group designed the new flagship 100,000 sqft Cell Therapy facility. It is part of Bayer’s plan to transform the Berkeley site for the manufacturing of Parkinson's Cell Therapy treatment clinical material, and for the future of Biotech.

For this state-of-the-art biopharma development and manufacturing facility, PM Group’s scope included engineering, architecture, construction administration and CQV assistance.
