Group Head of Architecture
PM Group was appointed to repurpose and convert a large 1970s industrial warehouse into a productive and creative workspace. Working within Boston Scientific’s global guidelines, the design team wanted to develop an environment that promotes workplace wellness. Aligned with the client’s core value of promoting a healthy workplace, the development has a goal of certification to LEED Commercial Interiors (ID+C) v4.
Completed in two phases, Phase 1 involved a 2,500 sqm office space, and the recently completed second phase has added a further 2,800 sqm of office space along with a 300 seater canteen and a fitness centre.
Our services
PM Group’s services included architecture, engineering design, procurement, project management, construction oversight and LEEP AP.
Promoting collaboration and productivity
A cohesive design philosophy embraced the existing industrial buildings aesthetic while creating a light filled, innovative working environment. The design aimed to spark collaboration and promote productivity. This was facilitated by creating flexible work and recharge areas and bespoke meeting spaces.
The office was designed with the goal of LEED certification. It incorporates a full upgrade of utility services including water efficiency, energy efficiency improvements, overall energy demand reduction, light energy demand reduction, onsite renewable energy in the form of solar thermal and photovoltaic to contribute to the annual energy demand.
