This £1bn project involved the construction of a 300km natural gas pipeline from West Wales to Gloucestershire. The team (formerly PM Projen) provided full project services on two of the pipeline’s major sections in South Wales – Milford Haven to Aberdulais (120km) and Felindre to Brecon (80km).
During the course of this project, the team provided design co-ordinators, project managers, project supervisors, construction managers, construction engineers, quantity surveyors, land agents, ALO’s, document controllers, health and safety managers, environmental managers and archaeologists.
The scope included the management of the National Grid Above Ground Installations (AGI’s) within South Hook LNG (named Herbrandston) and Dragon LNG (named Newton Noyes).

The scheme also included an AGI at Derwen Fawr with an intermediate block valve at Llangynog. As part of this project, there was new filtration, metering, heating, pressure and volumetric control installed at Derwen Fawr to control gas pressure and flow rate into the existing 2 No. Feeder pipeline.
This was a complicated, multi-discipline, major infrastructure project with a potential for delay caused through design change through the requirements imposed by planning authorities. The project involved multiple parties who formed strong working relationships to ensure the project proceeded to plan.
